Parish Priest title
Fr Ron White
Fr Ron was born in Heathcote but spent his 'formative' years in the Mallee before attending Bendigo Teachers College, teaching at 'tech' and primary schools and a stint at the audio visual unit in Queensbury Street.

After attending two theological colleges, the latter being St John's Morpeth, he was deaconed and priested by Bishop Oliver for Bendigo. After assistant curicies at Mildura and Swan Hill, he was appointed to Sea Lake and after 3 years left the Mallee for St Mary's Woodend - its 9th priest in 18 years! Having given it a bit of stability (for 5 years), he then accepted the offer of chaplaincy to Grimwade House - Melbourne Grammar Junior School where he spent 12 varied and exciting years.

Re-entering parish life, he then spent 5 years at St Stephen's Bayswater - a 'gathered' congregation of anglo-catholics from a wide cultural cross section. And now at St Matthew's since July 2007, after a somewhat protracted period of waiting!

In August 2010, Fr Ron was appointed Area Dean for the Bayside Deanery and continued this role until May 2016.

Musical Director & Organist title
Mrs Marlene Davies
Marlene was born in Sri Lanka and came to Australia in the mid 1970's. She was a pupil and then the head music teacher at Methodist College, a large all-girls school of 1,500 pupils in Colombo. She was also the Organist and Choir Director of St John's Anglican Church in Nugegoda, a suburb of Colombo.

Marlene's qualifications in piano and organ have come through the Trinity College of Music, London. Being married to Reg, a Uniting Church Minister, she has been able to have access to various types of organs in Tasmania, Queensland, Victoria and in England during Reg's post graduate study in Cambridge.

Marlene believes that leading the music in church is not an end in itself but always serves to add to the worship of God. It is a gift that is a ministry toegether with the gifts and ministries of everyone else in the body of Christ.

Marlene became Musical Director and Organist at St Matthew's, Cheltenham in February 2012.
